About The Position

Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Technicians perform a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of materials, and structures by detecting defects or irregularities without causing damage.

Requirements

  • Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent, reading and understanding English language work instructions.

  • Manually lift and move product and materials up to 55 lbs. through regular physical exertion, including but not limited to reach forward, reach overhead, lift, carry, crouch and bend.
  • Power grip and wrist turn, including the use of hand tools and/or steering for truck.
  • Walk, sit or stand for up to 12 hours with intermittent breaks.
  • Push / pull 100lbs.
  • See, inspect, and evaluate product quality
  • Read and understand written work instructions in English
  • Work in a non-climate controlled environment, including hot and humid conditions.
  • Walk up and down steps
  • Climb ladders and stairs of varying height

Nice To Haves

  • A two-year technical or NDT degree
  • ANST / IRRSP Certification
  • two or more years of relevant experience gained through on the job instruction, apprenticeship programs, and increasingly more complex assignments
  • strong aptitude as demonstrated through success at increasingly more complex assignments

Responsibilities

  • Uses automated and manual techniques including radiography to perform non-destructive tests to identify errors or defects in products.
  • Interpret, evaluate and document test results
  • Prepare, organize and write detailed reports on inspection results
  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures at all times
  • May be required to use specialized inspection methods such as magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, ultrasonic, visual, and radiographic testing
  • Reads work instructions, blueprints and other specifications to obtain product information.
  • Performs routine testing on quality of raw materials, first article, in-process, or finished goods according to blueprints, company standards, customer specifications, and any applicable standards by safely using radiographic equipment.
  • Rejects defective parts, and notifies appropriate personnel when product fails to meet standards.
  • Tracks, records and ensures all documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Instructs others on work instructions and specific techniques. Inspects for quality, defects, and deviations from specifications.
  • Responsible for quality of work and to appropriately resolve unusual operating conditions.
