Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Knowledge of basic physiology and anatomy
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and self-motivated
• Standing and walking for extended periods of time
• Must lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to assist and position patients
• Ability to maneuver equipment and motor coordination to operate sensitive equipment
• Some exposure to communicable disease or body fluids

Responsibilities

• Performs NCV (Nerve Conduction Velocity) tests on upper and lower extremities.
• Assists physicians with EMG testing & examination.
• Maintains order & efficiency of exam rooms.
• Assists with the studies as assigned.
• Prepares patient for EMG examination.
• Assists the physicians in conducting the EMG examination.
• Performs miscellaneous clerical functions.
• Obtains patients' EMG reports and distributes information as required.
• Maintain files on all requests for reports.
• Maintains clean EMG room and equipment.
• Replenishes lab supplies in examination room.
