This position is located at Kingsley Commons Computer Technology Program in Falls Church, VA. It is a .75 FTE (30 hours per week) role with benefits. Fairfax County's Department of Neighborhood and Community Services (NCS) offers opportunities for individuals looking for part-time roles to engage with the community and make an impact. NCS Center Leaders plan, prepare, and lead age and ability-appropriate community center activities. They support the 'One Fairfax Racial and Social Equity Policy' by developing and facilitating programs for a diverse population. This role involves supervising non-merit staff and volunteers, opening and closing facilities in the absence of supervisors, monitoring equipment and facility care, and completing administrative duties. Responsibilities include collecting and reporting statistical data, ensuring participant safety, responding to emergencies, greeting patrons, handling inquiries, making referrals, accepting payments, and communicating effectively in-person and by phone. The role also includes transporting participants using a center vehicle and maintaining required professional training (first aid, CPR, food manager's certificate, driver's license). The center operates daily, including nights and weekends, six days a week (Monday-Saturday), and the employee must be available to work these hours. NCS Team members engage the community to address changing needs, coordinate strategies, promote a high-performing organization, and support equity-based programs and practices.
