About The Position

NOVA Engineering is seeking an NCDOT Certified Inspector/Technician based from our Charlotte, NC location and will primarily be on CMT/Special inspections projects. This inspector will help ensure public safety by traveling to construction sites to inspect the contractor’s work, and perform basic field soil, ABC stone, asphalt and/or concrete tests and inspections under the direction of other NOVA engineering professionals to verify the work is performed in accordance with NCDOT and project specifications.

Responsibilities

Performing field materials testing of soil, ABC stone, asphalt, concrete and/or steel
Performing plant inspections for asphalt and/or concrete
Preparing detailed and complete field reports with all relevant test results and inspections/observations provided
Evaluating site and subgrade conditions on construction projects and providing recommendations
Communicating with clients, contractors, engineers and technician staff regarding construction issues
