Requirements
- At least 18 years old.
- Passing a background check.
- Holding a high school diploma or GED.
- Possessing or actively working towards an Associate Degree in birth-through-kindergarten, child development, early childhood education, or a related field, or holding a CDA credential.
- Genuine empathy and understanding of children's needs and development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet community needs and respond to changing circumstances.
- Capable of meeting the physical demands of working with children.
Responsibilities
- Assist the NC Pre-K Lead Teacher in overseeing classroom activities.
- Adhere to standards set by the NC Division of Child Development and Early Education.
- Align with the objectives of the current NC Pre-K Curriculum.
- Contribute to creating a nurturing and positive atmosphere for children and their families.
- Help forge strong, supportive relationships.
- Assist with the planning and implementation of learning experiences that promote various developmental domains, such as physical health, social-emotional growth, cognitive abilities, and creative expression.
- Observe and assess the children's development.
- Aid in the customization of the curriculum to meet the unique needs of each child.
- Guide young learners towards achieving their School Readiness Goals.
