Requirements

  • At least 18 years old
  • AS Degree in Early Childhood Education
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Completion of 12 hours of childcare training within 30 days of hire (we will help you get there)
  • Genuine care for children and a commitment to their safety and well-being
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with families
  • Physical ability to meet the demands of working with young children

Nice To Haves

  • A degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education
  • Prior experience in a licensed childcare center

Responsibilities

  • Assist the NC Pre-K Lead Teacher in overseeing classroom activities.
  • Adhere to standards set by the NC Division of Child Development and Early Education.
  • Align with the objectives of the current NC Pre-K Curriculum.
  • Contribute to creating a nurturing and positive atmosphere for children and their families.
  • Help forge strong, supportive relationships.
  • Assist with the planning and implementation of learning experiences that promote various developmental domains, such as physical health, social-emotional growth, cognitive abilities, and creative expression.
  • Observe and assess the children's development.
  • Aid in the customization of the curriculum to meet the unique needs of each child.
  • Guide young learners towards achieving their School Readiness Goals.
