About The Position

Sigma Defense is seeking a Collaboration at Sea (CAS) Training Specialist responsible for providing commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and government off-the-shelf (GOTS) product integration, installation, and operational support to the current architectures for which the CAS applications are deployed. The hired candidate will provide training on application usage, foundational system and server concepts, and basic troubleshooting procedures for a mission-critical Navy application and associated shipboard and staff communications and IT systems.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Recent and relevant experience with Navy afloat communications and knowledge of CAS and CENTRIXS systems.
  • Must be familiar with Navy afloat IT systems and software, including but not limited to Windows Server, MS Office, and Trellix.
  • Availability to travel CONUS (Continental U.S.) and OCONUS (Outside the Continental U.S.) to Navy shore sites and afloat units to support and deliver training approximately 30% annually.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • IAT II (Security+) or IAT III.
  • Candidate must possess or have the ability to obtain an active Secret clearance that may be upgraded to TS/SCI security clearance.

  • Familiar with the Collaboration at Sea (CAS) (HCL Domino) program, Sametime Chat, Persistent Chat, Domino webmail, and Microsoft Exchange–based email to provide effective training.
  • Navy Instructor qualification (NEC 805A).
  • Master Training Specialist (MTS) or Afloat Training Specialist (ATS).

Responsibilities

  • Developing or facilitating the development of electronic learning tools that complement written documentation and update as necessary.
  • Ensure connectivity across enclaves with coalition partners and provide consistent support for exercises, demonstrations, and evaluations where CAS is the principal component.
  • Conducting readiness assessments of afloat and ashore units and provide assistance in troubleshooting, grooming, and repairing systems as requested during exercises or operations.
  • Support all OCONUS training events and CONUS events that have more than 6 ships scheduled within the same week.
  • Deliver and support instructor-led, virtual, and hands-on training for a Navy enterprise application.
  • Provide instruction on application workflows, operational procedures, and common user issues.
  • Train personnel on operational communications and IT systems relevant to shipboard environments including: Windows Server fundamentals, HCL Domino (versions 9.x, 12.x, and 14.x), User access and authentication concepts, Service availability and basic troubleshooting techniques.
  • Provide information sharing with Navy coalition partners.
  • Support classroom, lab, and shipboard training environments.
  • Develop, update, and maintain training materials such as: Instructor lesson plans and student guides, Training presentations and slide decks, Quick reference guides, SOPs, and job aids.
  • Ensure training content aligns with approved system configurations and operational guidance.
  • Incorporate system updates, lessons learned, and stakeholder feedback into training materials.
  • Maintain a training schedule and assist in coordinating training activities.
  • Maintain training records, attendance documentation, and feedback.
  • Support audits, inspections, and program reviews related to training deliverables.
