About The Position

SSI is seeking a part-time Logistician to support the Combat Aircraft Loading Area (CALA) Data Collector role within the Defense Sector. This position involves collecting and recording weapon component and aircraft-specific data, supporting pre-flight and post-flight data collection, and entering information into an electronic database. The role also includes observing and recording weapon performance data from a safe location during live-fire training ranges, traveling to appropriate ranges, and being familiar with UHF radios/scanners and aircrew radio calls. The analyst must be able to distinguish between different types of weapon impacts and attend planning, safety, and scheduling meetings with military clients. This role may involve 20-30 day deployments to MCAS Yuma, AZ, and other short-term deployments to various sites.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma plus 8-year experience in aviation ordnance (preferred) or similar experience in close air support (CAS) or equivalent field experience.
  • Must be able to attain a SECRET clearance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word programs is highly desired.
  • Must be in sufficient physical shape to work on an aircraft flight line with standing, bending over, kneeling, walking for extended periods of time throughout the day.
  • Must have exceptional attention to detail and legible penmanship.
  • Must have knowledge of weapon and armament equipment along with authorized weapon load/configurations for Navy Strike Fighter aircraft (FA-18, AV-8, F-35, H-60, H-1).
  • Must have current driver’s license and be able to get a flightline driver’s license.
  • Ability to support compensated POV travel between NAS Fallon and Bombing Ranges.

Responsibilities

  • Collection and recording of weapon component and aircraft specific data.
  • Support pre-flight and post-flight data collection via data sheets.
  • Enter collected information into an electronic database.
  • Observe and record weapon performance data on a live-fire training range from a safe location.
  • Travel to the appropriate range (private vehicle or military transport) as required.
  • Be familiar with the operation of UHF radios/scanners and aircrew radio calls.
  • Discern the difference between weapons detonated high order, low order, or dud impact.
  • Attend planning, safety, and scheduling meetings with military clients.
