About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Park Manager, this position performs husbandry duties and handling of the Ambassador Animal collection, schedules and conducts interpretive programs, scripted and informal shows, and recreational activities for park visitors and guests at Amicalola Falls State Park & Lodge.

Requirements

• Direct supervision of the Assistant Park Manager
• Husbandry duties and handling of the Ambassador Animal collection
• Scheduling and conducting interpretive programs, scripted and informal shows, and recreational activities
• Cleaning, diet prep, feeding, enrichment, training, handling, and basic veterinary care of the animal collection (including raptors and reptiles)
• Maintaining records in the animal care log
• Performing educational programs for field trips, outreaches, and informal meet-and-greets
• Creating and implementing a diverse and ongoing series of educational programs, workshops, and special events
• Providing world class guest service
• Working closely and professionally with the Assistant Park Manager
• Providing a safe and sanitary environment

Responsibilities

• Daily husbandry duties including but not limited to cleaning, diet prep, feeding, enrichment, training, handling, and basic veterinary care of the animal collection (including raptors and reptiles)
• Maintaining records in the animal care log
• Scheduling of programs and activities
• Performing educational programs for field trips, outreaches, and informal meet-and-greets
• Creating and implementing a diverse and ongoing series of educational programs, workshops, and special events for the Park
• Provides world class guest service in accordance with established guidelines and standards
• Works closely and professionally with the Assistant Park Manager to ensure visitor and guest satisfaction
• Provides a safe and sanitary environment for visitors, guests, and employees
