About The Position

The State of Ohio, Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) is seeking an energetic, passionate individual who enjoys the outdoors to play a key role as a Natural Resources Engineer 3 within the Division of Mineral Resources Management. This position is headquartered in McArthur, Ohio, assigned to Vinton County, at 29371 Wheelabout Rd. McArthur, Ohio 45651. The ODNR manages state parks, wildlife land, and water, ensuring a balance between wise use and protection of natural resources. This role involves supervising lower-level engineers and technicians, reviewing engineering plans, providing technical assistance for Abandoned Mine Lands (AML) projects, assisting with engineering procedures/policies, and managing assigned projects.

Requirements

  • Certificate of registration as professional engineer issued by State Licensing Board
  • 12 months of experience as Natural Resources Engineer 2, 85742 or 12 months equivalent related engineering experience.
  • Transcripts are required for all coursework, degrees or educational accomplishments claimed on the application.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise lower-level Natural Resources Engineer(s) and Natural Resources Engineer Technician(s).
  • Produce and/or review Engineer sealed plan sets and bid documents for construction.
  • Provide technical assistance for development on future and current Abandoned Mine Lands (AML) projects sites.
  • Assist with development and implementation of engineering procedures/policies.
  • Act as a project manager for assigned projects.
