The Natural Gas Utility Engineer will perform work on projects that are part of a large-scale natural gas distribution infrastructure improvement program. This program’s goal is to accelerate the rate at which the utility will replace its aging pipeline.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required, Civil Engineering is preferred
  • 0-2 years’ experience is preferred
  • Available to work 40 hours per week initially in person
  • Travel is required
  • Must be able to work with limited supervision and guidance, both independently and/or as a member of a team
  • Self-starter with problem solving abilities
  • AutoCAD experience required
  • MS Office proficiency and effective communication skills required.
  • Candidates must be based in the United States and must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for current or future sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Interprets data, searches for records regarding natural gas facilities.
  • Prepares construction plans including proposed natural gas pipeline installation route.
  • Conducts field visits to observe site conditions and provide full analysis of project route.
  • Selects residential and commercial services based on previous conditions and future load requirements.
  • Follows regulatory compliance with the pipeline safety regulations.
  • Creates GIS map displaying project limits and details.
  • Estimates a bill of materials for project.
  • Prepares Road Opening Permits when applicable including traffic control plans.
  • Facilitates project status meetings with client.
