About The Position

The NATO SEASPARROW Surface Missile System (NSSMS) Mk 57. The Mk 57 NATO Sea Sparrow is a medium-range, rapid-reaction missile weapon system that provides the capability to destroy hostile aircraft, anti-ship missiles, and airborne and surface-to-air missile platforms with surface-to-air missiles. The successful candidate will conduct research and comprehensive design studies into development, acquisition, and/or in-service engineering for assigned equipment. They will evaluate performance related to hardware reliability, operation, performance, and/or maintainability problems, and proposed design changes. This role involves applying reliability and maintainability techniques such as Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, Stress Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis, and reliability modeling. The technician will prepare, modify, review, and update technical documentation throughout the lifecycle support phases, including specifications, test requirements, production drawings, and operating manuals. They will also provide technical evaluation and solutions to fleet problems, review reported issues, research databases, and develop solutions. Additionally, the role requires providing technical consultative information, maintaining knowledge of system design and configuration, and staying informed about hardware/software upgrades for MK9 TIS and MK29 GMLS. This includes supporting configuration management, data design, logistics support, and technical manuals, while providing consultative services to the technical community.

Requirements

5 years as a Fire Control Technician (NEC V31A) with experience in MK 57 NSSMS Mod 12 – 15.
4 Years of shipboard experience
Must possess a secret clearance
Experience in leading technical teams in troubleshooting and integration testing.
Communication skills in briefing at all levels of the organization, and be able to work with and foster a strong team environment.
Analytical skills to effectively track, manage, and status multiple technical issues.
Must have strong Microsoft Office Suite computer skills.
Must have strong organizational and time management skills.
A Company Background Investigation, CAC, US Citizenship, and a secret security clearance are required for this position.

Responsibilities

Conduct research and comprehensive design studies into development, acquisition, and/or in-service engineering for assigned equipment.
Evaluate performance specifically related to hardware reliability, operation, performance, and/or maintainability problems, as well as proposed design changes, advanced development changes, or system improvements.
Routinely applies reliability and maintainability techniques during design studies, such as: Failure modes and effects analysis, stress analysis, fault tree analysis, and reliability modeling for trade-off evaluations.
Prepare, modify, review, and update technical documentation relative to all phases of lifecycle support.
Utilize knowledge of assigned equipment and associated systems to review the documentation for technical accuracy and adequacy, determining compliance with Navy instructions and specifications.
Provide technical evaluation of and solution to fleet problems, including reviewing problems reported in messages, CASREPs, Feedback Reports, or other means; researching the NAVSEA Readiness Database; and developing solutions and evaluating corrective action.
Provide technical consultative information, maintain knowledge on design, configuration, and problems of the system.
Maintain contact with the design agent and the technical community.
Keep informed of relevant technical information and hardware/software upgrades for MK9 TIS and MK29 GMLS.
Provide technical information in support of configuration management, data design (drawings, specs.), logistics support (APLs, TRS), technical manuals (TMDR, etc....).
Provide technical consultative services to all levels of the technical community.
