The NATO SEASPARROW Surface Missile System (NSSMS) Mk 57. The Mk 57 NATO Sea Sparrow is a medium-range, rapid-reaction missile weapon system that provides the capability to destroy hostile aircraft, anti-ship missiles, and airborne and surface-to-air missile platforms with surface-to-air missiles. The successful candidate will conduct research and comprehensive design studies into development, acquisition, and/or in-service engineering for assigned equipment. They will evaluate performance related to hardware reliability, operation, performance, and/or maintainability problems, and proposed design changes. This role involves applying reliability and maintainability techniques such as Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, Stress Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis, and reliability modeling. The technician will prepare, modify, review, and update technical documentation throughout the lifecycle support phases, including specifications, test requirements, production drawings, and operating manuals. They will also provide technical evaluation and solutions to fleet problems, review reported issues, research databases, and develop solutions. Additionally, the role requires providing technical consultative information, maintaining knowledge of system design and configuration, and staying informed about hardware/software upgrades for MK9 TIS and MK29 GMLS. This includes supporting configuration management, data design, logistics support, and technical manuals, while providing consultative services to the technical community.
