About The Position

GFL is expanding and seeking a National Talent Acquisition Business Partner based out of their Vaughan office. This role is for a strategic, highly adaptable recruiter who excels at solving difficult hiring challenges and supporting operations across Canada. GFL is a leading diversified environmental services company in North America, known for its green trucks and integrated solutions that promote a "Green For Life" philosophy. The position is dynamic, requiring the ability to support various districts nationwide with their most challenging recruitment needs, from skilled trades like mechanics to leadership and management talent. The role involves close collaboration with local Operations Managers and District Directors to identify and address hiring pain points, recognizing that recruitment is crucial for operational success. Strong relationship-building skills are essential to gain trust with diverse teams.

Requirements

  • Based out of the Vaughan office.
  • Ability to manage recruitment across multiple Canadian time zones.
  • 5+ years of full-life-cycle recruitment experience.
  • Proven track record of headhunting both skilled trades and management roles.
  • Adaptable relationship-builder who thrives in a floating capacity and adapts easily to various regional dynamics.
  • Experience in industrial, logistics, blue-collar, or waste management sectors.
  • Advanced proficiency with modern ATS platforms (Workday preferred).
  • Advanced proficiency with LinkedIn Recruiter.
  • Willingness to support regional teams remotely.
  • Occasional travel as required.
  • Valid work authorization in the country where the job is located.
  • Successful candidates will be required to provide valid documentation confirming their eligibility to work in the country where the job is located prior to their start date.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a consultative advisor to district leadership, identifying local hiring pain points and building remote trust.
  • Align talent acquisition strategy directly with daily operational needs, ensuring local management feels supported.
  • Utilize advanced sourcing tools and networks to build sustainable talent pipelines for niche, critical roles nationwide.
  • Maintain ATS integrity (Workday) and use market intelligence to advise leadership on regional hiring trends.
