Requirements

  • Must hold an active Colorado Journeyman Electrician license or an active Journeyman license from an approved reciprocal state, including Alaska, Arkansas, Idaho, Iowa, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Utah, or Wyoming.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Completion of required equipment training.
  • OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 certification required.
  • Completion of all required safety certifications.
  • Ability to positively identify wire colors.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and create electrical prints and schematics.
  • Ability to bend conduit manually using hand benders.
  • Proficient in the use of power tools, saws, threaders, wire tuggers, hydraulic benders, and knockout punches.
  • Ability to dig trenches using hand tools or power equipment.
  • Ability to safely operate trenchers, backhoes, and lifts.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to company safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to operate two-handed tools including cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, and jackhammers.
  • Ability to operate company vehicles with both manual and automatic transmissions.
  • Ability to read and interpret maps, manuals, specifications, and written instructions.
  • Ability to work from mechanical personnel lifts (electric or gas-powered).
  • Ability to work on energized circuits with management approval per Health and Safety Program guidelines.
  • Strong working knowledge of electrical systems, components, and installation practices.
  • Solid understanding of electrical safety codes, regulations, and safe work procedures.
  • Mechanical aptitude and technical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure installations meet specifications and code requirements.
  • Effective verbal communication skills to coordinate with supervisors, team members, and other trades.
  • Time management skills to complete tasks efficiently while meeting project deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt to changing job site conditions and project requirements.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and compliance with company and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical installation, maintenance, and repair work with general supervision while holding a valid Journeyman Electrician license.
  • Read, interpret, and work from blueprints, schematics, drawings, and one-line diagrams to complete installations accurately.
  • Install, terminate, and troubleshoot control wiring, feeders, motors, and electrical devices.
  • Size, install, and terminate wire, conduit, switchgear, and related electrical components.
  • Lay out work areas and prepare materials and equipment for electrical installations.
  • Complete underground layout, rough-in, and conduit installations according to job specifications.
  • Install, bend, and modify Rigid, EMT, and ENT conduit to meet project requirements.
  • Troubleshoot motors, control systems, and electrical equipment to ensure proper operation.
  • Complete work orders and accurately record materials and labor used on each job.
  • Install and terminate low-voltage and computer cabling, including jacks and plugs, and test systems for proper performance.
  • Maintain compliance with the current National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable safety regulations.
  • Demonstrate the full skill set of lower-level classifications, including Apprentice Electrician duties.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and other trades to support safe and efficient job site operations.
  • Perform additional job duties as assigned based on changing business or project needs.
