About The Position

Meeco Sullivan is seeking a proactive and experienced National Health & Safety Manager to serve as the safety expert across all divisions, leading local implementation of corporate safety standards while making a direct impact on the wellbeing of workers across four facilities. Reporting directly to the President and supported by Tuckahoe Holdings’ corporate safety framework, this role operates within established corporate policies — with influence over how programs and procedures are structured, implemented, and run at each site. The successful candidate will bring their own expertise and judgment to build programs that work in practice, support communication channels that strengthen local outcomes, and lead from the floor as a visible, trusted presence who can clearly explain the “why” behind every safety requirement. Every decision made in this role has a direct impact on the safety and lives of the people who work across Meeco Sullivan’s four facilities. You’ll be the expert others turn to — building trust with front-line workers and leadership alike and drive the safety culture of a company that takes this work seriously.

Requirements

  • Experience in manufacturing and construction safety compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, structure, and run safety programs independently, with experience adapting corporate frameworks to fit site-specific needs.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to present to groups.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Environmental Science, or a minimum of 5 years of experience in a related role.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 500/501 and industrial hygiene certifications.
  • Spanish language proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary site safety manager at the Dahlonega facility, with direct day-to-day responsibility for safety operations at that location.
  • Liaison with site safety administrators at each of the other facilities to ensure consistent application of safety programs and strong communication across all locations.
  • Implement and maintain corporate behavior-based safety programs; develop site-specific addendums and local procedures to enhance effectiveness at each location.
  • Support management at each facility to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Oversee Workers’ Compensation program.
  • Conduct facility audits and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations.
  • Deliver safety training to managers, supervisors, and employees.
  • Coordinate new hire safety orientation requirements.
  • Apply corporate safety policies to write site-specific safety plans; representing the company in client and regulatory meetings.
  • Investigate incidents and implement preventive measures.
  • Lead monthly, quarterly and annual safety meetings and corporate safety reviews.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and regulatory changes.
  • Maintain a regular, visible presence on the plant floor to observe conditions, build relationships with employees, and reinforce a culture of safety through daily engagement.
  • Serve as the go-to resource for communicating the reasoning behind safety requirements — helping managers and employees understand not just what the rules are, but why they exist and how they protect people.
  • Travel to each facility at least twice per year to conduct audits and training.
