About The Position

The National Director, Special Events Sponsorship & National Teams is responsible for developing and securing strategic national corporate partnerships that generate sponsorship revenue and support fundraising events across the organization. This role cultivates and manages relationships with corporate partners, identifies new business opportunities, and collaborates with internal stakeholders to maximize partnership value. The position also provides strategic guidance and operational support to national special event teams, coaches teams to achieve fundraising goals. The ideal candidate is a relationship builder with experience in corporate fundraising, sponsorship sales, large peer-to-peer team fundraising, and cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing business or a minimum of five years' experience in aggressive strategic growth of local, regional, and national corporate partnerships.
  • Possess acumen to identify, target and build new business opportunities to maximize fund raising potential.
  • Intellectually curious and highly driven to activate innovative approaches to building income for the organization’s portfolio.
  • The ability to work under the pressure of multiple deadlines is essential.
  • This is a sales position with revenue goal that must be achieved.

Responsibilities

  • Personally carry a portfolio and generate new revenue each year.
  • Establish and achieve goals for renewal and new revenue that align with organizational strategy.
  • Manage the pipeline, new and renewal sales process. Raise significant revenue and strengthen the Arthritis Foundation brand.
  • In partnership with National Event Directors, identify new funding opportunities within the Walk to Cure Arthritis, Jingle Bell Run and Marquee events.
  • Oversee fulfillment of assets and impact reports for partners.
  • Identify, recruit and engage potential large multi-market teams for the Walk to Cure Arthritis and Jingle Bell Run.
  • Work collaboratively with local and regional field staff and national staff on funding opportunities, lead generation, benefit fulfillment and resources.
  • Collaborate with the National Corporate Engagement team to identify and cultivate partnership opportunities, share prospective leads across teams, and develop customized proposals that align with the goals and priorities of corporate partners while advancing the organization's mission.
  • Maintain up-to-date records and produce timely reports.
  • Other duties as assigned by the National VP, Special Events & Volunteer Engagement.
