About The Position

Credit First National Association (CFNA) is the private label credit card bank and consumer credit division of Bridgestone Americas. The Bridgestone Americas family of enterprises, including CFNA, is comprised of more than 50 production facilities and 55K employees throughout the Americas. We provide the consumer credit solution for the Firestone Complete Auto Care, Tires Plus, and Wheel Works brands, in addition to customized retail credit services for more than 8,000 other tire and automotive retailers nationwide. At our office in Cleveland, OH, more than 300 professionals gather each day to run a successful private label credit card program. This position strategically leads and directs all payment/credit card new product development activities, champions all sales and marketing channels of the organization's products and services suite. This includes identifying opportunities to launch new products or to enter new markets; managing sales and marketing budgets; projecting revenue and growth potential; identifying technology and marketing tools; conducting necessary market research and branding studies; and building and overseeing the company’s national sales and marketing teams. The role is responsible for driving profitable growth of CFNA through the development of integrated business plans with various Bridgestone Americas lines of business, highlighted by the achievement of CFNA application and sales objectives for BSRO ~2,200 company owned stores, BATO Independent Tire Dealers and Private Label Merchants (~6,000 stores), and driving outside spend on CFNA’s co-branded credit card product. This role has combined responsibility for the strategic leadership of $1.75B in sales volume, and contributing to over $130 million in Operating Profit from CFNA to Bridgestone annually.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Strategy Development, Marketing, New Business Development or related field required.
  • At least 12 years of financial services / credit card payments management experience, ideally as senior-level executive on a national scale.
  • 7+ years of large cross-functional team management experience.
  • Payments Industry related experience a plus (credit cards, consumer lending, or other related products).
  • Strong managerial skill coupled with detail-oriented research ability.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, energetic environment while striving to meet high goals.
  • Strong leadership skills, with demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills to develop talent.
  • Multifunctional experience commensurate with high-impact general management skills, including P&L management responsibilities.
  • Experience leading sales and marketing in a digital world.
  • Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree; 10+ years of relevant experience including 7+ years management or leadership experience or master’s degree; 8+ years of relevant experience including 5-7 years management or leadership experience.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or master’s degree in related field preferred.
  • Payments Industry related experience a plus (credit cards, consumer lending, or other related products).

Responsibilities

  • Develops and executes comprehensive sales & marketing plans and programs, both short and long range, to support sales and revenue objectives of organization.
  • Develops the learning plan and conducts necessary research to identify new insights.
  • Translates insights to action, to develop new products and/or new markets to enter and supporting in market programs.
  • Strategically grows and diversifies the current product portfolio leading to bottom line growth for the enterprise.
  • Develops best in class marketing talent, to produce best in class marketing executions to support business growth.
  • Increases product and brand awareness and creates an optimal mix of product and promotional channels.
  • Develops and executes step change digital strategy to accelerate business growth.
  • Partners with all areas of CFNA with New Payment Product development activities and partnerships to develop a robust pipeline of new products, services and technologies to support the growth of the business.
  • Develops profitable joint business plans through customer and dealer engagement/partnership.
  • Coaches and develops the team’s sales and marketing staff.
  • Develops engagement strategy at key trade related events and activities (e.g. trade shows, industry events) that help to elevate the brand position in market.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with industry influencers.
  • Manages all related expense budgets, and P&L contribution lines for CFNA.
  • Provides leadership for outside agencies on ongoing promotional campaign development and execution.
  • Serves as a member of the executive team lead for CFNA.
  • Manages highly engaged sales, marketing, and new product development team including product program managers over various related business disciplines.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Conducts interviewing, hiring, coaching and career development.
  • Plans, assigns, and directs work.
  • Appraises performance, rewards and disciplines employees.
  • Addresses complaints and resolves problems.
