About The Position

At Bon Appetit Management Company, we are passionate about food and outstanding service. Unlike other companies, we don't rely on corporate recipe books or pre-made meals. Our chefs and managers are encouraged to stay current with culinary trends and bring innovative food to our cafes. As a restaurant company operating in contract food service, we offer the freedom to be creative, take risks, and grow. Our rapid expansion and diverse accounts provide exciting opportunities for our employees. The Director of Technology is a key leadership role responsible for the overall technology strategy, systems integration, data intelligence, and digital infrastructure for a large national corporate dining account. This individual will act as the account's embedded technology executive, collaborating with Culinary, Operations, and Finance teams to develop and implement systems that support service delivery, performance benchmarking, and business intelligence. This role bridges technology and hospitality, focusing on how data from various dining service lines flows into actionable insights through dashboards and reports. The Director will build and maintain the KPI infrastructure necessary for leaders to benchmark performance, understand consumption patterns, and identify areas for improvement. This is a hands-on role requiring fluency in modern coding languages, AI/ML tools, and enterprise platforms like Smartsheet and Microsoft 365, with a proven ability to translate complex operational data into executive-level insights. While a food service or hospitality background is not essential, intellectual curiosity and a builder's mindset are crucial.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in technology leadership, systems architecture, data platforms, or digital transformation.
  • Hands-on experience designing and implementing enterprise technology solutions across multiple systems and service lines.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, PowerShell, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar languages; experience with APIs, integrations, workflow automation, and cloud platforms.
  • Advanced expertise with Microsoft 365, Power BI, Power Automate, SharePoint, Teams, and Azure.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity, data governance, and enterprise technology standards.
  • Experience building and maintaining KPI frameworks, metrics systems, executive dashboards, and benchmarking tools across multi-site or multi-unit operational environments.
  • Experience integrating multi-platform operational systems, preferably within managed services or hospitality environments (POS, catering platforms, MKS management tools).
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects in close collaboration with operations, finance, and non-technical business partners, including vendor and contractor management.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to translate technical concepts for culinary, operational, and executive audiences.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in managed services, hospitality, food service, corporate dining, workplace services, facilities technology, or managed services experience.
  • Experience integrating POS, catering, reservation, inventory, workplace, or financial systems.
  • Experience building consumption tracking, waste reporting, or sustainability metrics for food service or retail environments.
  • Experience with AI platforms, intelligent automation, analytics environments, and cloud data technologies.
  • Certifications such as Azure, Power BI, PMP, Enterprise Architecture, or AI-related credentials.
  • Experience building client-facing reporting and executive dashboards for managed services accounts.

  • Write, review, and oversee production-quality code using technologies such as Python, SQL, PowerShell, JavaScript/TypeScript, Azure, and Power Platform.
  • Develop APIs, automated workflows, data pipelines, and reporting solutions connecting operational systems, POS and financial systems.
  • Develop and manage Smartsheet-based tracking systems, automation workflows, and cross-sheet dashboards.
  • Maintain technology documentation, system inventories, and integration roadmaps.
  • Build and govern KPI frameworks supporting operations, culinary, finance, guest experience, and sustainability.
  • Deliver executive dashboards and benchmarking tools across all hospitality service channels.
  • Automate reporting processes.
  • Demonstrated fluency in AI/ML tools, including large language models, AI APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure AI), and generative AI workflows.
  • Identify and implement AI, automation, and emerging technologies that improve service delivery and business intelligence.
  • Conduct pilots, evaluate business value, and ensure responsible adoption of AI technologies.
  • Champion responsible AI adoption across the account; identify and prototype use cases that improve reporting, efficiency, and service delivery.
  • Stay current with emerging technology trends and assess applicability to hospitality and managed services environments.
  • Lead vendor selection, technology evaluations, and implementation governance.
  • Manage contractors, systems integrators, consultants, and service providers.
  • Define technical requirements, statements of work, implementation standards, and acceptance criteria.
  • Monitor budgets, deliverables, risks, and vendor performance.
  • Design, build, and maintain real-time dashboards and reporting infrastructure (Smartsheet, Power BI) that surface operational, culinary, and financial KPIs to leadership and client stakeholders.
  • Define and govern the account's full KPI framework in partnership with Culinary, Operations, and Finance leaders.
  • Develop automated reporting cadences (daily, weekly, monthly) across all service lines and locations.
  • Translate complex, multi-source data sets into clear visual narratives that drive decision-making at all levels of the organization.
  • Establish benchmarking standards across locations and develop comparative analysis tools that identify performance gaps and opportunities.
  • Serve as the primary technology liaison between the account, the client's IT organization, and corporate technology teams.
  • Communicate technical strategy, project status, and risk clearly to non-technical senior stakeholders.
