About The Position

The National Director of RSP Clinical Excellence is a senior leadership position responsible for defining, building, and driving Thrive's national standard of practice across school psychology and educational diagnostics. This role involves setting the clinical bar for all Thrive school psychologists nationally, leading and developing Clinical Supervisors who provide high-touch supervision to clinical fellows, CFY-year SLPs, and tiered providers. The Director will also serve as a primary clinical voice in the evolution of Thrive Clinical, partnering with product and engineering to shape how the platform measures, supports, and accelerates excellent care. This role requires approximately 50% travel across Thrive's national markets.

Requirements

  • Full, unrestricted SLP, OT, or PT licensure; provisional or pre-licensed candidates will not be considered.
  • Active licensure in Tennessee or a relevant state of practice; multi-state licensure costs supported upon hire.
  • Minimum 10 years of clinical experience in school-based or IEP-driven pediatric settings.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive clinical leadership experience, with at least 3 years in a multi-site or multi-state clinical leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience building diagnostic standards, evaluation frameworks, or quality systems at scale.
  • Demonstrated experience formally supervising clinical leaders or supervisors.
  • Working fluency in IDEA Part B, state SPED variation across at least two states, and Medicaid billing for school-based services.
  • Demonstrated data fluency: comfort reading clinical and operational dashboards and using data to drive decisions.
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 50% of the month across assigned national markets.
  • Consistent, timely documentation history with no pattern of submission lapses.
  • Successful background check prior to start.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience scaling clinical operations across multiple disciplines (SLP, OT, PT, or adjacent).
  • Prior experience as a clinical leader or clinical champion at a healthtech or edtech company with a proprietary clinical platform.
  • Familiarity with school-based EHR and IEP platforms (Frontline, SEAS, Embrace, Welligent, GoalBook, or similar).
  • Experience working in or alongside venture-backed or high-growth healthcare or education services organizations.
  • Fluency in a global language (Spanish, Somali, Arabic, or others).

Responsibilities

  • Set and Own the National Clinical Standard for psychoeducational assessment and eligibility determination.
  • Define Thrive's national framework for how school psychologists select instruments, conduct evaluations, and document findings.
  • Build and maintain clinical frameworks, supervision protocols, and practice standards for Clinical Supervisors.
  • Ensure excellent care is documented, measurable, and consistently applied across all geographies.
  • Ensure diagnostic standards account for diverse student backgrounds.
  • Lead and Develop Clinical Supervisors Nationally, serving as their direct clinical authority.
  • Build a scalable supervision model, including hiring criteria, onboarding, playbook, and accountability.
  • Set the national coaching agenda and ensure supervisors have the necessary tools and direction.
  • Coach the coaches, owning the development, succession planning, and bench of the Clinical Supervisor layer.
  • Make readiness and advancement decisions in collaboration with Clinical Supervisors and regional leads.
  • Drive Thrive Clinical Adoption, Fidelity, and Evolution, setting standards for its use and data interpretation.
  • Establish platform benchmarks for supervisors and providers, using system-wide data to identify areas of strength and weakness.
  • Partner with product and engineering as the clinical owner for defined roadmap areas.
  • Monitor clinical compliance, IEP timelines, evaluation fidelity, and delivery mode quality across all RSP markets.
  • Build early-warning systems to surface quality risks.
  • Coordinate across SLP, OT, and PT service lines for a cohesive, whole-child model.
  • Own the multi-state regulatory landscape for RSP clinical operations.
  • Lead National Professional Development for school psychologists, ensuring content is grounded in Thrive's framework and evidence-based practice.
  • Design PD that cascades from national standards to individual providers.
  • Lead summer intensives, site visits, and targeted in-person engagement.
  • Serve as Thrive's Senior School Psychology Voice Nationally, representing the model in district and school partner relationships.
  • Support onboarding of new national partnerships by establishing clinical expectations.
