About The Position

A warm, easygoing family in Brooklyn is seeking a full-time temporary nanny from August 25th through September 25th while their regular nanny is away. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced infant and toddler nanny looking for a short-term commitment with a family that values kindness, communication, and professionalism. The family has two wonderful children—a happy 6-month-old baby and an independent 2½-year-old toddler —and is hoping to find someone who genuinely enjoys this stage of childhood and can step into the household with confidence. If you're an engaging, dependable nanny who loves babies, enjoys toddler routines, and appreciates working with respectful work-from-home parents, we'd love to hear from you. This welcoming family lives in a beautiful three-story Brooklyn brownstone and has created a calm, structured environment where everyone works together as a team. Mom works from home but frequently leaves for meetings throughout the day, while Dad also works outside the home. They have established healthy work-from-home boundaries, and their toddler is accustomed to respecting them. The family's parenting style emphasizes consistency, independence, and kindness. Their toddler is described as sweet, easygoing, and happy, while their baby has an excellent routine, sleeps well, and is thriving.

Requirements

Experienced with both infants and toddlers
Observant and attentive to developmental milestones
Excellent communicator who is comfortable texting parents throughout the day when needed
Dependable and consistently punctual
Organized, detail-oriented, and present
Physically active and comfortable carrying a growing infant
Comfortable working in a multi-level brownstone with stairs
Respectful of the family's low-screen philosophy
Genuinely enjoys children
Warm and kind

Occasional evening availability is appreciated but not required.

Responsibilities

Caring for the family's happy 6-month-old daughter, including bottle-feeding expressed breast milk, communicating with Mom before feedings, following established nap and feeding schedules, age-appropriate developmental play, reading, tummy time, music, outdoor walks, and sensory activities, monitoring developmental milestones, and maintaining a safe and nurturing environment.
Picking up the 2½-year-old toddler from preschool (approximately a 3-minute walk from home).
Serving a simple prepared dinner for the toddler.
Engaging in play with the toddler until a parent takes over around 6:00 PM.
While the baby naps, responsibilities may include preparing a simple dinner for the toddler, tidying children's areas, washing bottles, light cleanup related to the children, and keeping play areas organized.
