About The Position

A close-knit Seattle family with three energetic boys, ages 5, 3, and 1, is looking for a dependable nanny to join their family year-round. The afternoons are busy and active, and the family is looking for someone who can help make the transition from school to home run smoothly. The boys enjoy Legos, trains, magnet tiles, and playtime. The youngest is newly mobile and loves to climb and explore. The family enjoys cooking and eating together, spending time with extended family, and going on walks. They are hoping to find someone local and well-established in Seattle who can become a consistent part of their weekly routine. The ideal candidate is playful, sensible, energetic, and attentive, with the confidence to manage three young children at once. They should be a self-starter who can keep everyone moving through the afternoon routine while still making time for fun and connection. Being quick on your feet and highly safety-conscious is especially important due to the youngest child's adventurous nature. The candidate should be warm but able to hold appropriate boundaries, stay consistent with routines, and calmly navigate typical toddler tantrums or sibling disagreements. A safe, reliable driver with a clean driving record, their own dependable vehicle, and experience caring for children in the Seattle area is required.

Requirements

  • Prior childcare experience with young children
  • Comfortable caring for three children, ages 1–5, simultaneously
  • Experience managing toddler tantrums and sibling disagreements calmly and appropriately
  • Energetic and able to keep up with active, mobile young children
  • Valid driver’s license and own reliable vehicle
  • Safe driver with a clean driving record
  • COVID vaccinated and generally up to date on immunizations
  • Already established in the Seattle area
  • Glowing references from recent nanny positions
  • Must be able to lift 35 pounds safely
  • Must be able to get up from and down to the floor numerous times throughout the day
  • Will need to be able to react quickly to certain situations
  • May need to react to emergent situations in a calm, effective and safe manner

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing multiple young children and can confidently keep a busy afternoon routine moving without needing a lot of direction.
  • Knows how to balance playful energy with sensible boundaries and isn’t easily thrown off when three little ones need something at once.
  • Proactive, safety-minded, attentive, and comfortable maintaining routines while still creating a fun environment.

Responsibilities

  • Pick up all three children from school and safely bring them home.
  • Offer a simple snack.
  • Help the children transition into their evening routine.
  • Oversee bath time.
  • Engage children in play until parents arrive home.
  • Occasionally help with bottle-feeding the youngest child if a parent is running late.
  • Provide active supervision, especially for the newly mobile 1-year-old.
  • Keep all three children safe, engaged, and on schedule.
  • Help unload the dishwasher when time allows.
  • Place children's lunch boxes into the dishwasher when time allows.
  • Clean up of activities.
