Live In or Live Out Nanny for a Family near Grant Park

About The Position

This family-focused position requires a highly engaged and dependable nanny to care for two school-aged children. The primary focus is on supporting, supervising, and encouraging the children throughout the day. The ideal candidate will genuinely enjoy being involved with the children, assisting with homework, reading, music, creative activities, playdates, and limiting screen time. This role is for someone proactive, attentive, and comfortable taking the lead with routines, boundaries, activities, and the children's daily needs. The nanny will also assist with school transportation, activities, meals, children's laundry, bath and bedtime routines, and light household tasks to keep the household running smoothly. One child has insulin-dependent diabetes and will require support with meal and insulin reminders, as well as occasional overnight monitoring via a glucose-monitoring app when a parent is working overnight. The family employs a house cleaner for heavy cleaning, so the nanny's household duties are limited to light upkeep. A live-in arrangement is preferred, but the family is open to an excellent live-out candidate. Flexibility for occasional late nights and overnights is important. The schedule is somewhat flexible and will vary based on the family's needs. An example schedule on days when the parent is unavailable includes: 7:00 AM — Wake children, teeth, and get dressed; 7:15–7:30 AM — Breakfast and school bags; 7:30 AM — Walk or drive to school; 7:45 AM — School drop-off. During school hours, the nanny will manage light household tasks, grocery shopping, personal errands/appointments, or have personal time. 2:15 PM — School pickup; 2:30 PM — Homework, reading, music practice, or playdate; 4:30 PM — Supervised activities/outdoor time (e.g., zoo, park, playground, playdates); 6:00 PM — Dinner; 7:00 PM — Bath time; 7:30 PM — Bedtime routine and reading; 8:00 PM — Lights out. Occasional overnight monitoring may be needed when a parent is working overnight. A private bedroom and semi-private bath will be provided.
