About The Position

A family in Pacific Heights, San Francisco is seeking a full-time live-in nanny/governess/educator for their 2-year-old daughter. The role is a hybrid one, focusing on early education and development, cultivating language, manners, and etiquette by example, and modeling desired standards of communication and conduct. The family values rigorous education, fine manners, and character, seeking a candidate with impeccable character, patience, refinement, and intellectual substance, reflecting a European and American upbringing. The position begins as soon as a suitable candidate is found.

Requirements

• College or university degree in Early Childhood Education, Childhood Development, or a related childcare field (e.g., Education, Child Psychology).
• Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience (public or private sector), with homeschooling experience being a plus.
• Comfortable around cats and not allergic (family has 3 cats).
• Native English-language speaker.
• Bilingual (French, Italian, or Spanish is a plus).
• Minimum of 15 years of combined experience as a nanny/governess/educator.
• CPR/First Aid Certified.
• Licensed driver with a clean driving record.
• Ability to nurture the child's mind and learning stages thoughtfully with structure, warmth, and a genuine love of learning.
• Energetic.
• Experience/expertise as a professional childcare expert.
• Strong communicator.
• Very clean in terms of overall cleanliness, organization, and hygiene.
• Swimmer.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement daily educationally-enriching activities and lesson plans/curriculum tailored for a 2-year-old who enjoys addition, subtraction, counting to 100, books, words, and numbers.
• Drive the child if necessary, requiring excellent driving skills and a clean driving record.
• Manage all aspects related to the child, including laundry.
• Prepare, warm up, plate, and serve the child's food, including chopping food and fruits, and preparing snacks or side dishes if needed.
• Teach proper conversation and etiquette, avoiding baby-talk.
