A family in the Soho area of New York City is seeking a full-time Nanny/Family Assistant. The Family Office is in the early stages of formation, and the team is growing to support the needs of the family. Principal 1 is highly involved in the business and has a complicated schedule, including significant travel. Principal 2 is largely in charge of the properties (3+), household staff, children, and other logistics regarding the homes in addition to their own operating company and charitable boards. The current in-home staff includes a House Manager/PA, Nanny, Chef, and a Housekeeper. The existing Nanny has been with the family for 3 years and currently works Monday through Friday assisting with breakfast, drop-offs, pick-ups, child organization and general childcare. The existing nanny also travels with the family on alternating trips. There are three children in the household with one splitting time between this home and a coparent’s home. The children range from 4 – 11 years old, and all three children are enrolled full time in school in New York. They also have a variety of afterschool activities. This household is semi-formal, highly family oriented, likes to travel, enjoys sporting events and the culinary arts. The Family is looking for a dynamic “on-the-go” Nanny that can both assist with care for 3 children under the age of 11 with extreme confidence and family/household support while the children are in school. This person should have knowledge of early childhood development, have worked in a private household previously and the ability to remain flexible as well as work collaboratively on a team. Someone with positive, but calming energy that can self-manage the children’s schedules is the ideal candidate. Remaining fluid around the family schedule and proactively anticipating the needs of the children and the family are a must have in this role. This is full time Nanny position. The schedule includes two shifts Wednesday through Friday: 7:00 a.m.– 5:00 p.m. and 11:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. Shift assignments may change depending on the Family’s needs and will be coordinated between the Nannies depending on that week’s needs. Weekends are typically Saturday from 8:00 a.m. overnight through Sunday 6:00 p.m. Flexibility is always required, including nights, weekends, holidays, travel, and other special events as needed. The Nannies will also travel with the Family between their homes in New York City, Upstate New York, Idaho and Turkey as well as on family vacations. This candidate will work with the existing Nanny and Executive Personal Assistant to update the children’s calendars, coordinate pick-ups/drop-offs, perform light housekeeping and laundry in the children’s rooms, keep the children organized, and other child-related administrative tasks including 2 camp sign-ups and personal shopping. The Principals prefer a semi-formal, expertly run home. Privacy is paramount and minimal staff in the home is preferred. The Principals are seeking an individual who will be a great fit with the established team in the home. This position will report to a Family Office Staff member with a dotted line to the Principal(s).
