About The Position

The Nail Technician provides salon clientele with professional services relating to the care and treatment of nails and skin. The role focuses on natural nails, manicures, pedicures, and gel/Shellac services in a high-volume salon and spa. The technician is expected to deliver quality service, build and maintain a client base, meet personal service and retail sales goals, and participate actively in continuing education. The position is part-time, nonexempt, and reports to the Salon Manager.

Requirements

Possess a valid and current board-certified license.
Ability to use a computer keyboard, standard telephone, and other related business equipment.
Ability to work with chemicals and chemical compounds.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
Positive attitude and team-player mentality.
Passion for the beauty industry and willingness to continue learning.

Nice To Haves

Two to five years of experience in the cosmetology or cosmetic industry preferred.

Responsibilities

Meet or exceed personal service and retail sales goals.
Acknowledge clients within a reasonable time after they check into the salon.
Build a client base by recruiting New Request Clients and maintaining Customer Client Cards.
Provide quality professional service through technical skills and recommend appropriate retail products to clients.
Respond professionally to customer service issues and promptly address complaints.
Exhibit good communication skills.
Continue education on products, services, and current industry issues.
Ensure the personal work area and salon meet or exceed State Board Regulations.
Perform basic salon housekeeping, including cleaning, stocking, and maintaining client cards.
Organize time and resources effectively to meet sales goals.
Communicate issues and needs to Salon Management.
Meet salon attendance and tardiness guidelines.
Maintain an updated professional appearance and comply with the salon dress code.
