About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Coating Inspector to join our team. In this vital role, you will ensure that all coated products meet rigorous quality standards and regulatory requirements. NACE (now AMPP) or NBPI (Naval Basic Paint Inspector) Coating Inspector monitors surface preparation and protective coating applications to prevent corrosion on industrial or marine structures.

Requirements

• NACE (now AMPP) or NBPI (Naval Basic Paint Inspector) certification.
• Experience in monitoring surface preparation and protective coating applications.
• Knowledge of industry standards (AMPP, SSPC, ASTM) and naval requirements (NAVSEA for NBPI).
• Proficiency in measuring ambient conditions (temperature, humidity, dew point).
• Experience with wet film thickness (WFT) and dry film thickness (DFT) measurements.
• Familiarity with non-destructive testing tools.
• Ability to conduct holiday (pinhole) testing, adhesion testing, and surface profile measurements.
• Skill in maintaining detailed daily quality control logs.

Responsibilities

• Inspect abrasive blasting and measure ambient conditions like temperature, humidity, and dew point.
• Verify wet film thickness (WFT) during application and measure dry film thickness (DFT) using non-destructive tools after curing.
• Conduct holiday (pinhole) testing, adhesion testing, and surface profile measurements.
• Ensure work adheres to project specifications, industry standards (AMPP, SSPC, ASTM), and naval requirements (NAVSEA for NBPI); maintain detailed daily quality control logs.
