Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry. This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use. The purpose of this position is to provide process and analytical support for US import/export operations and material flow. Serve as the NA OFC point of contact for FTZ management and control. Ensure optimal planning and management of FTZ and non-FTZ material flow to mitigate and/or recover US import duties, tariffs and fees. Provide plant-level support for import/export activities, control and trade compliance. Develop, implement and maintain supporting processes - with data visibility and rigor - to manage and account for OFC imports, exports and minimize the impact of all related spend. This position will work closely with the NA plants, Finance, Trade Compliance and 3rd Party FTZ partners to meet supporting business needs and objectives of the Global OFC Supply Chain organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business or Trade from accredited university program
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in supply chain, logistics or trade related roles
  • Demonstrated knowledge of supply chain, logistics and trade
  • Demonstrated knowledge of import/export processes, roles, systems and accounting
  • Operations focused; transactional based knowledge and experience
  • Project management skills
  • Data analysis and visualization skills
  • Project Management / Project Leader with demonstrated proficiency in leading projects and cross functional teams.
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrated collaboration skills in managing expectations and supporting interests of multiple stakeholders (internally and externally)
  • Demonstrated organizational and communication skills for data summary, reporting and management.
  • Ability to analyze and use historical and experimental data to determine optimum solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage US import/export data for spend visibility and management of applicable duties, tariffs and fees. This includes collaboration with all NA plants and business Finance for month-over-month accounting.
  • Third party point of contact with NA OFC FTZ service providers and partners for FTZ operations; lead activities for business process management, trade compliance, improvement and control.
  • Coordinate US duty drawback activities; provide analytical support and maintain process rigor for month-over-month cost recovery. Manage and track process performance to optimize free cash flow and associated business benefits.
  • Oversee US import entries; proactively identify errors for correction, root cause analysis and process improvement, in close collaboration with NA Trade Compliance.
  • Provide import/export analytical support for OFC Mexico operations, US<->Mexico ware flow and all related financial activity.
  • Ensure US import/export process alignment with NA OFC FTZ operations; optimize non-FTZ ware flow processes to maximize duty mitigation and cost recovery.
  • Provide non-standard import/export process and transactional support to NA OFC operations, in close collaboration with NA Trade Compliance.
  • Develop and maintain communication processes and metrics for NA OFC import/export performance; closely align with Finance for all supporting spend management data.
