About The Position

This role involves troubleshooting and repairing hardware and process failures for specific tool sets within a PVD Maintenance team, including AMAT Endura and AMAT Centura. The technician will perform preventive maintenance according to standardized work documents, utilize SPC charts and FabGuard FDC software for tool performance evaluation, and document maintenance activities. Responsibilities also include assisting in the improvement of standardized work documents for both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, maintaining spare parts inventory, and contributing to the overall success of the area. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, capable of taking initiative with minimal supervision, and able to interact effectively with multiple disciplines in a 7x24 manufacturing facility. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, teamwork, and communication skills are essential, along with an aptitude and desire to learn new skills and the ability to thrive in a multi-cultural environment. Key challenges include troubleshooting complex hardware and process issues across various process chambers, using SPC and FabGuard FDC data for complex equipment and process troubleshooting, and managing multiple equipment downs with shifting priorities. This role will also assist Equipment Engineers with upgrades and improvements, work with process technicians on wafer recoveries and post-maintenance qualifications, and coordinate equipment downtime with Manufacturing Leads.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree (or higher) in an engineering or science discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years semiconductor manufacturing experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of NXP (or affiliate) experience may qualify in lieu of degree.
  • Working knowledge/experience with PVD Processes and toolsets.
  • Experience with advanced electronics, equipment troubleshooting, installation, repair and operation of Semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
  • Must be able to read schematics and complex drawings/diagrams.
  • Must be physically capable of standing for long periods of time as well as lifting and carrying objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work well in a diverse team environment and multitask with minimal supervision while adjusting to changing priorities.
  • Analytical problem solving and testing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair all hardware and process failures for AMAT Endura and AMAT Centura tool sets.
  • Perform preventive maintenance activities following standardized work documents.
  • Use SPC charts and FabGuard Fault Detection (FDC) software to evaluate tool performance.
  • Document maintenance activities.
  • Assist in improving standardized work documents for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain spare parts inventory.
  • Assist Equipment Engineers with equipment upgrades, improvements, and long down troubleshooting.
  • Work with process technicians on wafer recoveries and post maintenance qualification tasks.
  • Coordinate equipment down time with Manufacturing Leads.
