About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical N-PORT Data Analyst to support regulatory reporting and data validation activities for registered mutual funds and investment companies. This role is responsible for the preparation, analysis, reconciliation, and quality review of SEC Form N-PORT filings while partnering with internal operations, compliance, fund accounting, and technology teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of mutual fund operations, portfolio data, and regulatory reporting requirements within a fund administration environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or related field.
  • 2–5+ years of experience in mutual fund operations, fund accounting, regulatory reporting, or fund administration.
  • Working knowledge of SEC Form N-PORT requirements and Investment Company Act reporting regulations preferred.
  • Understanding of mutual fund securities, derivatives, liquidity classifications, and portfolio reporting concepts.
  • Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis functions.
  • Experience with fund accounting platforms, data warehouses, or regulatory reporting tools preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience within a fund administrator, asset manager firm, or financial services organization.
  • Knowledge of additional regulatory filings such as N-CEN, N-CSR, or Form PF is a plus.
  • Familiarity with SQL, data visualization tools, or automation/reporting technologies preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review SEC Form N-PORT filings for registered investment companies, including monthly and quarterly reporting requirements.
  • Analyze portfolio holdings, security classifications, derivatives, liquidity, and risk metrics to ensure regulatory accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform data validation, reconciliation, and exception analysis across accounting, custody, pricing, and portfolio management systems.
  • Research and resolve data discrepancies related to security master data, asset classifications, market values, and investment attributes.
  • Coordinate with fund accounting, compliance, legal, and external clients to resolve reporting issues and meet filing deadlines.
  • Monitor changes to SEC regulations and reporting requirements impacting N-PORT reporting obligations.
  • Assist with testing, implementation, and enhancement of reporting systems, automation initiatives, and operational controls.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of procedures, controls, and validation processes.
  • Support internal and external audits, compliance reviews, and client inquiries related to regulatory filings.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives focused on operational efficiency, data governance, and reporting accuracy.
