About The Position
ATI is seeking an N/C Turning Equipment Setup Relief Operator to set up and operate production machine tools of various types and sizes. The operator machines forgings or stock to customer requirements and specifications using a variety of cutting tools, and uses hand tools, measuring instruments, and gauges to ensure proper setups and machining operations. The position is for second shift. Training takes place on first shift for 60–90 days, Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of CNC operation experience.
- At least 5 years of setup experience on horizontal or vertical turning centers.
- Basic reading, math, and measurement comprehension.
- Ability to read instructions and perform simple measurements.
- Strong knowledge of basic machining principles and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Analytical and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail.
Nice To Haves
- Completion of a Production Machine Operator Training Program or 3–5 years of previous machinist experience.
- Experience with metal forgings.
- Experience cutting soft jaws.
- High school diploma or equivalent, Vo-Tech certificate, or an Associate degree in electrical, mechanical, or another related field.
