About The Position

The Evergreen State College seeks a full-time regular faculty member to teach mycology and biology at the undergraduate level. The ideal candidate is a scholar-practitioner, comfortable connecting fungal biology to environmental and human health applications, industry trends, and emerging career paths. This position involves teaching courses in a Mycology Certificate, a general biology sequence, and related subjects. The faculty member will also collaboratively develop team-taught, interdisciplinary offerings with faculty from various disciplines. Classes are taught in the evenings and on weekends, and the faculty member should be prepared to teach both in-person and online. Regular faculty status is equivalent to tenure-track at other colleges.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Mycology, Biology, or related field with emphasis in mycology.
• Three years or more of professional or post-graduate experience in applied mycology (in areas such as Medicinal Fungi, Environmental Applications of Fungi, or Industrial/agricultural mycology).
• Prior teaching and/or mentoring experience.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire.
