About The Position

This position involves running and operating gamma logging equipment and software, following procedures for all job duties, and accurately completing all job paperwork. The role includes assembling, running, and operating mud pulse tools with appropriate surface gear, and recognizing and inventorying all appropriate tools on location. The MWD Field Specialist II will be responsible for MWD tool assembly and surface gear rig up, remaining on wellsite for the duration of directional operations or until released by customer/supervisor. Key responsibilities include monitoring, troubleshooting, and making necessary repairs to equipment in operation while drilling, utilizing MS Office Suite and other related computer programs, and accurately qualifying survey data. The role requires prioritizing and managing multiple tasks simultaneously, working independently, and making sound decisions to support operations while maintaining a safe working environment. Emphasis is placed on individual safety and the safety of others. The position also requires maintaining spatial orientation and awareness to safely navigate the work environment and performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to assemble, run, and operate MS Directional MWD tools and equipment
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with coworkers, internal and external customers, and third parties
  • Bend, stoop, kneel, twist, and crawl throughout the work shift
  • Demonstrate clear communication skills including ability to read, write and speak English as well as understand and promptly follow verbal and written instructions in English
  • Ability to judge near and far distances to maintain awareness of, watch, and report ongoing work activities to coworkers and third parties
  • Willing to work extended schedules, including extra days, nights, weekends and holidays
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 6+ months MWD experience or 6+ months experience with MS Directional, or equivalent combination of both
  • Gamma logging experience
  • Eligible to meet requirements to drive on Company business and pass an MVR

Nice To Haves

  • BenchTree surface gear experience
  • DigiDrill logging software experience
  • Basic computer skills with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook etc.)

Responsibilities
