About The Position

We are currently hiring for a Mustard Kitchen Lead on third shift. As you develop your skills, there is plenty of room for growth to other roles within the factory. This role is responsible for the operation and utilization of the Yellow Mustard and Grey Poupon kitchens in the facility. The lead will also direct daily activities of relish, sauce, and mustard crews, and general labor. They will oversee the fresh cucumber receiving area during the green season and fill in for any PC positions when employees are absent. The role requires operating a forklift and performing minor mechanical work. Support of the Kraft Heinz Management System (KHMS) at the operator level is crucial, including participation in shift hand off meetings, Level 1 meetings, performance boards, Centerline Management (CLM), Clean to Inspect and Reapply Lubrication (CIL), 5S, defect handling, startup/shut down, changeovers, and daily problem handling. The lead will work with support departments to improve line performance and utilize a computer for communication, reports, and daily monitoring.

Requirements

  • Upon hire will train to become Lock Out Tag Out certified and maintain qualification
  • Upon hire will train to become Forklift certified and maintain qualification
  • Must successfully pass on the job training and maintain operator qualification
  • Able to read, write, and perform basic math functions, such as, multiplication and addition

Responsibilities

  • Work in a safe manner, following all general safety rules of the plant.
  • Following PPE requirements
  • Escalating safety defects and concerns to leads/supervisors
  • Assure that we are always working to meet or exceed our quality standards.
  • Following GMP requirements
  • Inspecting raw materials and finished goods
  • Completing quality documentation
  • Assisting in rework as assigned
  • Escalating quality defects and concerns to leads/supervisors
  • Responsible for the operation and utilization of the Yellow Mustard and Grey Poupon kitchens in the facility
  • Responsible for unloading raw materials from trucks, supplying the kitchen department with materials and ingredients as required via lift truck, placing raw materials and finished goods in proper storage areas, and loading finished goods on trucks
  • Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s)
  • Perform all required observations and training timely and as scheduled
  • Assemble the tote fill system and coordinate mustard tank/vat usage.
  • Operate forklift in the kitchens, seed room and around storage areas.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Team Leader
  • Operate relish, sauce, and mustard making area without immediate supervision.
  • Direct daily activities of relish, sauce, and mustard crews, general labor.
  • Keep work area clean and orderly

  • Perform minor mechanical work such as patching hose, cleaning Tempco as needed.
  • Conduct inspections as necessary, report results including recommendations for corrective actions to supervisor.
