This position involves planning and implementing a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, diverse backgrounds, and abilities of students. The role includes assisting in establishing curriculum objectives, creating a conducive learning environment, and guiding the learning process towards curriculum goals. The educator will employ appropriate instructional methods, assess student accomplishments, and diagnose learning strengths and weaknesses. Collaboration with colleagues, students, and parents is expected, as is assisting administration in implementing policies and rules governing student life and conduct. The role also involves planning assignments for support personnel and volunteers, utilizing technology in teaching, and maintaining accurate records. Additionally, the position requires adherence to the Code of Ethics of the Education Profession in Florida, supporting school improvement initiatives, and recognizing and acting on indicators of student distress or abuse. An appropriate testing environment and test security must be established.
