About The Position

This is an 11-week, full-time summer internship program at Selective Insurance, known as the Ignite Internship program. The program offers a glimpse into the insurance industry, allowing interns to develop skills and knowledge in their chosen business area. Interns will experience a corporate environment through on-the-job assignments, team projects, exposure to senior leadership, and a community volunteer day. The MUSIC Intern role specifically focuses on learning about Mesa Underwriters Specialty Insurance Company (MUSIC), a Selective Insurance Excess & Surplus affiliate. This internship provides hands-on experience in a specialized area of insurance, with opportunities to support business initiatives, gain industry knowledge, build professional connections, and acquire practical experience. This is a hybrid position, requiring applicants to be within commuting distance of Dresher, PA or Scottsdale, AZ.

Requirements

Must be a current college student to qualify.
Demonstrate an interest in learning about the insurance industry, specifically within excess and surplus.
Experience with Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint is required.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to communicate professionally and work part of a team.
High School Diploma required.
Ability to perform at a professional level.

Nice To Haves

Ideal internship candidates will be full-time undergraduate college Juniors or Seniors.
Preference for Risk Management majors; Finance or equivalent majors accepted as well.
College credit can be earned depending on your institution’s requirements.
