About The Position

Use music to help kids heal and thrive at nationally known American Family Children’s Hospital. We are seeking a Music Therapist to perform assessments of patients and families to identify needs in order to set short and/or long-term goals. Utilize knowledge of pediatric growth and development to guide interactions across age and developmental levels. Provide music therapy interventions that are goal-oriented, support evidence-based practice, and are patient and family focused. Evaluate effectiveness of interventions and modify care based on results. Work closely with patient, family, and health care team in order to develop and implement a patient-specific treatment plan. Communicate relevant patient care information and work as an integrative member of a patient’s health care team to promote continuity of care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Music Therapy, Music, or a related field and/or completion of the degree equivalency program in Music Therapy as required by the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA)
  • 3 months working or volunteering with children
  • MT-BC (Music Therapist – Board Certified) Upon Hire

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in Music Therapy
  • 6 months working with children in a healthcare/hospital setting
