About The Position

St. Ann’s Community is currently looking for a full time hospice Music Therapist for the Life enrichment department located on both the Irondequoit and Webster campus. The primary purpose of the Music Therapist is to plan, organize, and implement music therapy treatments/programs and evaluate the effectiveness of the services provided. These services are made available to residents receiving hospice care and/or those nearing the end of life.

Requirements

Bachelor of Music or Arts from a 4 year college in Music Therapy – Required
Reliable transportation - Required

Nice To Haves

Board Certified Music Therapist or Licensed Creative Arts Therapist - Preferred
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Geriatric/music therapy experience - Preferred

Responsibilities

Floats to Cherry Ridge campus once a week
Assesses the strengths and needs of residents.
Develops goals, objectives, and interventions appropriate to the needs and functional levels of the residents.
Implements individual/group music-based interventions that promote positive experiences, improve/maintain functioning, or facilitate changes that contribute to life quality.
Observes for behavioral changes and alters approaches to meet residents’ needs.
Evaluates programs and interventions to assure efficiency and effectiveness in meeting residents’ needs.
Communicates and manages the need for supplies necessary for program implementation
Adheres to professional standards and ethical guidelines pertaining to the Music Therapy Code of Ethics.
Communicates to St. Ann’s (and/or hospice) staff information regarding residents necessary to maintain continuity of treatment
Support MT sustainability and growth by keeping communication open with the Foundation. This includes providing data, meeting donors, sharing stories, etc.
