About The Position
D'Youville Life & Wellness Community, a faith-based, nonprofit organization established in 1960, is seeking an experienced Music Therapist to join their team. The community is known for providing short-term rehabilitation and skilled geriatric care, earning respect and trust within the Greater Lowell area. This role focuses on providing music therapy services within the Special Care Unit, which serves individuals with Alzheimer's and dementia. The organization emphasizes a supportive workplace with stable leadership and low turnover, aiming to value and equip employees for success.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Music Therapist Board Certification
- At least 3 months’ experience in a LTC facility
Responsibilities
- Organize daily/weekly music therapy sessions
- Work with individual/group plans to coordinate and implement physical, mental, social, psychosocial and interest goals
- Design/implement therapeutic music group programs and 1:1 sessions
- Collaborate with pastoral care and clinical therapeutic disciplines
- Assist in observing participant involvement
- Write care plan for music therapy goals
- As required, assist in transporting or moving residents
- Assess, develop treatment plans, and document sessions
- Assist in maintaining participant records
- Maintain contacts to keep abreast of developments within field or areas of interest or expertise.
