About The Position
The Music Teacher teaches music lessons to students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. The role focuses on increasing and retaining student enrollment, supporting each student’s musical growth and enjoyment, and contributing to a culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect. The Music Teacher partners with the store Lessons Lead, students, and families, and may also assist with customer service as needed.
Requirements
- Previous experience in music, education, or a related field.
- Ability to teach an instrument in which the candidate is proficient, such as drums, guitar, or keyboard.
- Demonstrated competency and proficiency in the area being taught.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on community needs.
- Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum.
- Assist with customer service as needed and help build and maintain long-term student relationships by creating a positive experience.
- Communicate frequently with students and families, building trusting relationships and recognizing parents’ knowledge of their child.
- Share students’ goals and progress frequently with students and/or their parents.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
