About The Position

As a Music Teacher, you will teach music lessons to students according to the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. You will help grow student enrollment and ensure students continue to develop and enjoy playing music, while supporting a culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect. The role also involves partnering with the store Lessons Lead and with students and families, communicating regularly about student goals and progress, and assisting with customer service as needed. The stated pay rate is $16.00–$17.00 per hour at the non-teaching rate and up to $26.80 per hour at the total teaching rate, depending on background and experience. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, education, and other factors; pay ranges may differ by location.

Requirements

Previous experience in music, education, or a related field.
Ability to teach an instrument in which the candidate is proficient, such as drums, guitar, or keyboard.
Ability to demonstrate competency and proficiency in the area being taught.

Responsibilities

Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on community needs.
Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum.
Assist with customer service as needed and help build and maintain long-term student relationships by providing a great experience.
Communicate frequently with students and families to build trusting relationships and recognize parents’ knowledge of their child.
Share students’ goals and progress with students and/or their parents frequently.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
