About The Position

Sing Education is seeking passionate musicians with a degree in music or a related field to inspire the next generation with the transformative power of music. Sing Education is a leader in music education, dedicated to sourcing and training top music teachers and developing innovative teaching resources. Their mission is to instill a love for music in every child, fostering collective harmony. This role involves weekly teaching during school hours (8:45 am - 3:30/4:30 pm) during term time, with permanent placement in a Sing Education primary school. Teachers can work between 1 to 5 days per week, delivering singing-led curricular whole-class music lessons from Nursery to Year 6 using Sing Education's resources. Responsibilities also include leading singing assemblies, choirs, and after-school clubs.

Requirements

  • University graduate with a degree in music or a related field.
  • Strong vocal skills with the confidence to lead lessons and assemblies.
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English.
  • Capability to conduct whole-class music lessons.
  • Basic keyboard proficiency for classroom use.
  • Understanding of the National Curriculum for music.
  • Proficient with ICT and able to use online systems such as G Suite.
  • Experience in classroom teaching or one-on-one instruction.
  • Previous work with children or young people in a teaching or leadership role.
  • Passionate about inspiring a love for music in pupils.
  • Strong classroom management and disciplinary skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with both Sing Education and school teams.
  • Maintains appropriate confidentiality.
  • Possesses a sense of humour and can generate enthusiasm for music.
  • Highly organised with excellent communication skills.
  • Commitment to personal and professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver singing-led curricular whole-class music lessons from Nursery to Year 6 using Sing Education teaching resources.

  • Full-time Salary PA: £24,867 - £32,542 (for 5 days per week), based on a 5-point progressive pay scale.
