About The Position
Music & Arts is seeking a Music Teacher to teach private music lessons and inspire students of varying ages and skill levels. The teacher creates an engaging, supportive, and safe learning environment; builds positive relationships with students and parents through regular communication, goal-setting, and progress updates; and works with store teams to schedule lessons and encourage student retention. The role allows educators to focus on teaching, while Music & Arts handles administrative work. The listed pay is $16.35 per hour for non-teaching work, plus $11–$22 per hour for teaching, depending on background and experience. Musicians employed by Music & Arts may use gig leave to take time off to perform and return to their jobs afterward. Pay may vary by location and depends on experience, education, and other factors.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or Music Performance, or equivalent experience.
- Two years of music teaching experience.
Nice To Haves
- Advanced degree (Master’s or Doctoral) in Music.
- Professional teaching memberships or certifications.
- Eight or more years of teaching experience, especially with multiple instruments, including banjo, baritone, bass clarinet, bass guitar, bassoon, cello, clarinet, flute, French horn, guitar, mandolin, oboe, percussion, piano, piccolo, saxophone, string bass, trombone, trumpet, tuba, ukulele, viola, violin, and voice.
