About The Position
The Music Teacher provides music lessons to students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. The role works to increase and retain student enrollment while helping students grow, develop, and enjoy playing music. The teacher contributes to a culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect, and provides an excellent customer experience. The position also involves working with students and families to build trusting relationships and communicate about student progress and goals.
Requirements
- Previous experience in music, education, or a related field.
- Ability to teach an instrument in which the candidate is proficient, such as drums, guitar, or keyboard.
- Demonstrated competency and proficiency in the area to be taught.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on community needs.
- Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons Curriculum.
- Assist with customer service as needed and help build and maintain long-term student relationships by creating a great experience.
- Communicate frequently with students and families, build trusting relationships, and recognize parents’ knowledge of their child's music learning.
- Share students’ goals and progress frequently with students and/or their parents.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
