About The Position
The Music Teacher teaches music lessons to students according to the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. The role works to increase student count and help students continue to grow, develop, and enjoy playing music, while supporting a culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect. The Music Teacher partners with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain students based on community needs, and provides customer service as needed to build lasting student relationships and create a positive experience. The role also communicates frequently with students and families about student progress and goals, building trusting relationships and valuing parents’ knowledge of their children.
Requirements
- Previous experience in music, education, or a related field.
- Ability to teach an instrument in which the applicant is proficient, such as drums, guitar, or keyboard.
- Demonstrated competency and proficiency in the area they will teach.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on community needs.
- Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum.
- Assist with customer service as needed to build and maintain long-term student relationships and create a great experience.
- Communicate frequently with students and families to build trusting relationships.
- Share each student's goals and progress with the student and/or their parents.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
