About The Position

As a Music Teacher at Guitar Center, you will teach music lessons to students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. You will help grow and retain student enrollment while supporting each student’s musical development and enjoyment. The role also contributes to a welcoming store culture grounded in integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect. You will partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain students based on community needs, assist with customer service as needed, and build lasting relationships with students and their families through frequent communication about progress and goals. The position pays $16.90–$20.34 per hour for non-teaching work and up to $30.14 per hour for teaching work, depending on background and experience. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, education, and other factors.

Requirements

Previous experience in music, education, or a related field.
Ability to teach an instrument in which the candidate is proficient, such as vocals, guitar, or keyboard.
Ability to demonstrate competency and proficiency in the area being taught.

Responsibilities

Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum.
Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on community needs.
Help students continue to grow, develop, and enjoy playing music.
Assist with customer service as needed and help build and maintain long-term student relationships by creating a positive experience.
Communicate frequently with students and/or their parents about student progress and goals.
Build trusting partnerships with students and families, recognizing parents’ knowledge of their child.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
