About The Position

The Music Teacher teaches music lessons to students according to the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. The role works to increase student count and ensure students continue to grow, develop, and enjoy playing music while nurturing a culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect. The teacher partners with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain students based on community needs, provides a positive customer experience, and communicates with students and families about progress and goals. The position is at Store 553. Pay is listed as $15.00–$16.00 per hour at the non-teaching rate and up to $22.35 per hour total teaching rate, depending on background and experience; actual compensation may vary.

Requirements

Previous experience in music, education, or a related field.
Ability to teach an instrument in which the candidate is proficient, such as drums, guitar, or keyboard.
Ability to demonstrate competency and proficiency in the area being taught.

Responsibilities

Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on community needs.
Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons Curriculum.
Assist with customer service as needed and help build and maintain long-term students by creating a great experience.
Communicate frequently with students and families, build trusting relationships, and recognize parents' knowledge as their child's music teacher.
Share students' or parents' goals and each student's progress frequently.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
