About The Position
The Learning Experience - Hudson Yards is seeking an energetic and creative Music Teacher who loves introducing young children to the joy of music. You'll create engaging, age-appropriate music experiences for young learners through singing, rhythm, movement, instruments, and interactive activities. This role is perfect for someone who can bring energy into a classroom and make music exciting and accessible for children at every developmental stage.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Comfortable singing, leading movement, and engaging groups of young children
- Must meet applicable New York City childcare requirements
Nice To Haves
- Music background, training, or relevant experience strongly preferred
- Previous experience teaching music or working with children preferred
- Experience with musical instruments is a plus
- Preschool, daycare, enrichment, or early childhood experience is a plus
- Creative, enthusiastic, dependable, and comfortable performing in front of groups
Responsibilities
- Lead engaging music experiences for young children
- Introduce rhythm, melody, movement, singing, and age-appropriate instruments
- Create interactive music activities for different ages and developmental levels
- Use music and movement to support language, motor, cognitive, and social-emotional development
- Encourage creativity, participation, self-expression, and confidence
- Incorporate music into classroom themes and learning experiences
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and center leadership
- Prepare and organize materials and instruments for activities
- Maintain a positive, energetic, and inclusive learning environment
- Follow applicable New York City childcare health, safety, and licensing requirements
