About The Position

The Therapeutic Recreation Department on the Manhattan campus is seeking a part-time Music Therapist on a temporary basis to join their team. The role involves planning, organizing, and directing medically approved recreational programs for residents/clients, with a focus on Art Therapy or Music Therapy. The Music Therapist will plan and implement large special recreation functions in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of The New Jewish Home.

Responsibilities

• Plans and implements ongoing Recreation and Leisure programs with a focus on Art Therapy or Music Therapy interventions for patients and older adults.
• Conducts assessments and develops plans of care and attends interdisciplinary care plan meetings.
• Adapts techniques and interventions to meet the needs of patients and older adults.
• Supervises Art Therapy or Music Therapy students and volunteers.
• Performs other related duties that may be assigned.
