About The Position
This is a 0.70 FTE term position for a Music Teacher covering Primary to Grade 6, and Explore Music for Grades 7 and 8. The role involves providing quality instruction aligned with the Nova Scotia Department of Education and Early Childhood Development, implementing strategies to promote student learning, demonstrating best practices in assessment, attending meetings and professional development, and maintaining records in online systems.
Requirements
- Teachers are expected to provide 3 professional/supervisory, work-related references, their email addresses and their phone numbers in your SuccessFactors application.
- References must be able to speak to an applicant’s teaching abilities.
- AVRCE will require referees to provide reference checks prior to noon on June 26.
- Applicants must be available to take phone calls between June 18 and up to July 3 for interview appointments.
Responsibilities
- Provide quality instruction within the framework established by the Nova Scotia Department of Education and Early Childhood Development
- Implement strategies, activities, and techniques for promoting student learning based on each student’s prior knowledge, skills, and learning needs
- Demonstrate best practices in assessment to determine next steps
- Attend and actively engage in meetings and ongoing professional development
- Maintain and submit all records in online systems and other communication avenues
