About The Position

The Music Choral Director is responsible for leading and inspiring the school's choral program. The ideal candidate will be passionate about music education and have a deep understanding of vocal technique and repertoire. This position is to be filled for the 2027/2028 Academic Year.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in music education, Choral Conducting, or a related field (master’s preferred).
Experience conducting choirs at the [elementary/middle/high school/community] level.
Proficiency in vocal technique and music theory.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to inspire and motivate students of varying skill levels.
Dependable, reliable, trustworthy, and prompt.
Professionally conducts business.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree in music education, Choral Conducting, or a related field.
Experience with diverse musical genres and styles.
Familiarity with digital music tools and technology for education.
Knowledge of vocal health and techniques.

Responsibilities

Plan and coordinate choral performances for Kingdom Kids, Joyful Sounds, and Choral Workshop, including Grandparents’ Day and the Christmas Program.
Teach vocal techniques and music theory to choir members.
Select an appropriate repertoire that aligns with the choir’s skill level and goals.
Organize and coordinate choral events.
Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages collaboration and creativity.
Stay current with trends in choral music and music education, incorporating new methodologies and technologies.
Assess and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and support to teachers and administration.
Maintain communication with students, parents, and the community regarding performances and expectations.
Collaborate with staff to integrate choral music into the broader curriculum.
Plan, develop, produce, direct, choreograph, and coordinate a once yearly music theatre production including Joyful sounds and choral workshop in the spring.
